During the early years of Nitro Circus you could find me hanging out with my cousin Travis Pastrana.  Usually running around with a camera filming some pretty goofy home made stunts.  The Nitro Circus dvd series began with “Travis Pastrana and  the Nitro Circus”.  With some unexpected success, producers Gregg Godfry, Travis Pastrana and Jeremy Rawle were able to further generate 6 more dvd’s which, to this day have really found their niche among NC dvd fans. During the latter portion of these dvd’s I was easy to find, either on the football field or studying my butt off.  I knocked out a 4 year stint at the University of Maryland while playing football for the Terrapins, I’d earned my degree in Kinesiology and had also completed my first year at the University of Maryland’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

This was about the time the first season of Nitro Circus was finishing up.  I would actually find myself in Jamaica soaring off the top of a ramp strategically placed at the edge of a cliff launching into the crystal clear waters of the Atlantic Ocean below.  It was a tough decision to make but I knew I’d regret passing up the opportunity to get back on board with Nitro Circus for the entire second season.

Season 2 of Nitro Circus was a blast.  I couldn’t have been happier to join the rest of the crew on some amazing film shoots.  The ideas were flowing, stunts were flying and bodies were definitely hurting.  I can’t wait to throw a few of the behind the scenes photos into the photo gallery so check back periodically.

As season 2 came to an end, and with MTV in limbo over the possibility of a 3rd season, the NC crew was given an opportunity we couldn’t turn down.  Nitro Circus Live, the greatest action sports tour to hit Australia.  It was a no brainer, we where in!  After a few practice sessions at Pala Raceway north of San Diego we were far from dialed but more then willing to get the show on the road.

We took off to Australia’s five major cities to put on 11 shows in a little over a months time.  Most of the shows would end up selling out! Shows would literally go off without a hitch, excluding the broken bones, concussions, sprains, strains and ever popular separated shoulders of course.

The tour would have a timely ending as the majority of our athletes were able to get their rest and fine tune their plans for X Games 16 in LA.  A tremendous showing at X by the tour athletes securing a collection of medals across multiple events.  Most notably, Jake Brown, Chad Kagy and of course Travis Pastrana all taking home gold medals.  In my opinion, all of the athletes had effectively proven themselves to the world.  It was an incredible thing to witness first hand. My hat goes off to each and every person that made Nitro Circus Live in Australia a success!

A new journey for Nitro Circus has come in the form of a feature film.  Nitro Circus 3D will surely demand our attention and complete dedication.  Creative for the movie is well under way.  It seems as if the stunts we are setting out to accomplish are no margin short of insane.  It’s our job to make them a reality and it is with a healthy dose of respect and a lot of hard work we should all  be proud of what we achieve.  Keep an eye out for Nitro Circus 3D in 2011!
